Tapio Anttila is an experienced designer and interior architect (SIO) with a long-standing career. His repertoire includes furniture, lighting, and product design, both for his own collections and for numerous brands across Europe and Asia. Tapio is among Finland’s most internationally awarded designers, with multiple products receiving the Good Design Award and the Green Good Design Award. In Finland, he has been honored with the Kaj Franck Design Prize, named Furniture Designer of the Year, and awarded the Pro Finlandia medal for his distinguished contributions. His designs always incorporate simplicity and a distinct Finnish ethos characterized by practicality, versatility, ingenuity, and timelessness—representing sustainability at its finest. For FitWood, Tapio has designed the multifunctional UOMA modular table, intended for both pets and their owners. They can use the table either separately or together. UOMA does not resemble typical pet furniture but blends seamlessly with home interiors. Cats or small dogs will find it an ideal spot to observe their surroundings or a cozy nook for napping. UOMA adapts to the needs of its furry or non-furry users, functioning as an auxiliary surface, coffee table, or side table. Multiple UOMA modular tables can be arranged into various groupings, similar to nesting tables, or stacked to form tower-like storage units. In each configuration, pets will discover inviting hiding places.
